Daubuz Moor – Truro
An 18 acre nature reserve that stretches along the River Allen.
- A great place to spot nature at it's best
- An area of peace and tranquility
- Dogs permitted
- Cycle route 32, cyclists must stick to the top path only
- Only a 5 minute stroll from the city centre
- Follow Moresk Road, entrance via Treseders Gardens
- Nearest car park NCP High Cross
Coosebean – Truro
- Woodland area on the River Kenwyn, close to Victoria Gardens
- Discover different routes along the way, which are signposted
- Great fun for the kids, who can spot the fairy houses?
- Dog friendly but parts of the trail does go over farmland
- Follow St Georges Road & access the trail via the gate at the end
- Access also via the train station over the footbridge
- Nearest car parks: Edward Street or Moorfields.
Truro to Roseworthy Circular Walk
- An extension to Coosebean walk above
- 6.4 miles of easy to moderate walking
- Start beside the Court House and follows the leats to their source on the River Kenwyn
- Follow the Kenwyn Valley through New Mill to the woods at Treworder, watching for kingfishers along the way
- Cross into the tributary valley at Roseworthy
- Return along the valley via Penrose Water Gardens to Ninnis at the convergence of the streams
- Return to Truro via Victoria Gardens
Boscawen Park
- ​Follow the riverside along Malpas Road
- Admire the award winning gardens
- Great for learning to ride that first bike
- Dogs can be exercised around the riverside walk
- Duck pond and wildlife area
- Childrens play area
- Toilets
Victoria Gardens
- 19th century style gardens full of trees and shrubs interrelated with paths and flower beds
- Seating in the park, relax and listen to the birds singing and the bees buzzing
- Water feature and leats system running through the gardens.

- Nearest car park: Edward Street
- Wheel chair access - the gardens are steep although the pathways are tarmac
Malpas – St Clement – Tresillian
- 3 miles along the beautiful Tresillian River
- Follow the path out of Malpas, following the river, heading towards St Clement. Pass through this charming village, keep following the river to Tresillian
- A popular place to spot rare birds and enjoy the wildlife
- Dog friendly
- Cycle friendly - St Clement - Tresillian
- Very uneven woodland ground from Malpas - St Clement
- Toilets at St Clement
- From here, you can retrace your steps back to Malpas or with an extra few miles you can head into Truro
- Malpas is not suitable for car parking, use Boscawen Park
Truro and the Old Newham Railway
- Start at Garras Wharf Car Park TR1 2TN
- Follow the road to Newham and walk along the trackbed of the old railway
- The track has been recolonised with wildlife
- Dog and cycle friendly
- 4.4 miles circular walk past County Hall & back into the city centre past the Royal Cornwall Museum
- Nearest Car Park: Garras Wharf
Idless Woods
- 3.7 miles, easy
- A short walk to enjoy local wildlife with a stop for an ice cream, light bite or a drink at Woodmans Cabin. The path starts from Truro Bowling Club and it follows River Allen leading you to Rosedale Park. Follow the path as it continues past the back of some houses and through a kissing gate into Bishops Close. The footpath snakes between houses climbing up and onto Higher Trehaverne Road. Turn right and after about 150 m follow the road to the left. It’s a quiet road taking you down to Idless and Idless Woods with lots of wildlife.
- You will see Woodmans Cabin on the right from the road. You can continue your walk taking one of the paths in the surrounding woods and come back for some refreshment. This café is ideally situated to enjoy tranquil surroundings and the birds singing
- You can retrace your steps back to Truro or once you reach Higher Trehaverne Road follow it all the way towards Kenwyn Road, turn left and down back to Truro
