More information:
Just a short walk from Truro city centre, Coosebean Woodland is one of the city’s hidden natural treasures. Following the River Kenwyn, this peaceful woodland offers an ever-changing landscape where visitors can enjoy nature, explore woodland paths and discover something new in every season.
Maintained by Truro City Council’s Countryside Rangers Team, together with dedicated volunteers and local craftspeople, the woodland is carefully managed to protect wildlife while making it as accessible as possible. Boardwalks, bark-covered paths and ongoing conservation work help visitors enjoy the woodland while supporting its rich natural environment.
Beyond the woodland, the Northern Meadows are helping to enhance biodiversity through tree planting projects involving local schools and community groups. Sustainable management is at the heart of the site, with natural materials reused to create wildlife habitats, including traditional dead hedges.
Whether you’re looking for a family adventure, a peaceful dog walk, wildlife spotting or simply a chance to enjoy the outdoors, Coosebean Woodland is a wonderful place to explore throughout the year. Every visit offers something different as the woodland changes with the seasons.
Top tip: Wear sturdy footwear or wellington boots, particularly after wet weather, as some paths can become muddy!
