Truro: A Year-Round Foodie Destination
While the Food Festival may be the highlight of Truro’s food calendar, the city’s food and drink scene thrives throughout the whole year.
Start your day at one of the city’s many independent cafés, nestled among cobbled streets and historic opes. Enjoy a top-rated coffee at Grounded or try a trendy matcha latte at Taupe Cakery.
At lunchtime, explore Truro’s diverse selection of eateries. Whether you prefer a sit-down meal or want to grab a traditional Cornish pasty from Cornish Oven on the go, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Treat yourself to a freshly baked pastry from Native Grain or a sweet treat from Cookie Queen afterwards.
As the sun sets, Truro’s restaurants and pubs come alive. From comforting staples like fish and chips from Walkers Kitchen to new Persian flavours at Sip Wine Bar, you can tuck into a hearty meal, sample small plates at Bodega 18, or even treat yourself to a cheeky takeaway.
If fine dining is more your taste, consider a dining experience at Petty Fours Restaurant or The Alverton.
And if you’re a budding home chef, don’t miss the local food stores and local markets – ideal for stocking up on fresh, sustainable Cornish produce to recreate your favourite dishes at home.
