Event information:
Following Festive Friday (Truro’s Christmas Lights Switch-on) which takes place on 24th November, celebrations continue in the city with The Father Christmas Parade.
Organised by Truro BID, the parade around the city will start at 6.30pm from Boscawen St, and will feature Father Christmas in his sleigh, elves, local community dance groups, musicians, and circus performers.
The Father Christmas Parade will be inspired by Hall for Cornwall’s Christmas Show which this year is Peter Pan, so expect Peter Pans, pirate clans, Tinker Bells and more!
The Father Christmas Parade marks the start of the first of four Wednesday late night shopping evenings in Truro this year, and many City Centre shops will be open until 9pm.
There will be entertainment from Rock Choir Cornwall before the parade at 6pm in Boscawen St.
The Parade Route:
6.30pm – The parade will leave Boscawen St and make its way along St Nicholas Street, Kenywn Street, right at Little Castle Street and on to River St. Then back along St Nicholas Street, onto Boscawen Street, Princes St, Green St and finishes at Back Quay.
The main streets will be traffic free all day. Boscawen St will host a selection of Truro Farmers Market produce stalls during the day which will change from produce to seasonal goods from 4pm, and Truro BID will be organising street food & drink in King St.
There will be security staff to help you and our local police will be present as well.
Transport Information: The Truro Park & Ride will be operating a later service for the Father Christmas Parade and all Wednesday Late Night Shopping evenings, with the last service leaving the city at 9.30pm.
Father Christmas Parade is being brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors. FEAST and Truro City Council are also supporting this event.
Please note: as with the parades featuring Father Christmas that have taken place in the last two years, there will be no live reindeer at the event. Father Christmas will be in his locally built sleigh with festive wooden reindeer.
