World Book Day® 2026 is on Thursday 5th March and Trelissick will be supporting the charity’s mission to encourage all children to discover the fun of reading. To celebrate World Book Day and the National Year of Reading 2026, we’re inviting you to dress up and reenact your favourite stories, add your favourite book to the book bunting, and play book-themed games in the stables. Step into a world of imagination with a storytelling trail through the garden.

Collect your trail booklet from the welcome team, then wander through the garden to search for creative prompts that help you dream up your very own story to draw, write, or both.

Once your tale is ready, bring it to life and share it proudly on the stage in the stables, where every storyteller becomes a star. Don’t forget to give your World Book Day costumes another adventure and wear them on your visit.

Dogs on short leads are welcome to take part in your World Book Day adventures, keeping paws on paths throughout the garden.
