National Trust Trelissick

Set on a peninsula overlooking the Fal Estuary, National Trust Trelissick is one of Cornwall’s finest gardens and one of the most popular places to visit near Truro. With sweeping estuary views, colourful seasonal planting and peaceful woodland walks, it’s the perfect destination for a day out in the Cornish countryside.

Explore more than 30 acres of gardens, discover collections of camellias, rhododendrons and hydrangeas, or enjoy a stroll through the parkland and woodland while taking in spectacular views towards Falmouth and the Carrick Roads.

The historic house, originally dating from the 1750s, offers visitors the chance to explore elegant rooms overlooking the estuary, while the Crofters Café, gift shop, second-hand bookshop and Cornwall Crafts Association Gallery make it easy to spend a relaxing day at the estate.

Families are well catered for with seasonal children’s trails, picnic areas and accessible paths throughout much of the garden. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the garden, parkland and woodland walks, making Trelissick a popular destination for walkers and four-legged friends alike.

Located just outside Truro, Trelissick is easily reached by car, bus or, by Enterprise Boats from Falmouth via St Mawes (April – October), offering a memorable way to arrive at the estate.

Trelissick also hosts a varied programme of seasonal events throughout the year, making every visit a little different.
