Sailing Tours on the River Fal from Truro

Share with other guests:

More information:

Enjoy a unique guided sailing trip on the River Fal between Easter and October.

Your hosts Neil and Debbie are experienced and knowledgeable and the tour will include landmark locations along the way including Tolverne, Tregothnan (home of the Cornish tea) Trelissick and the Carrick Roads. The barge departs from and returns to Malpas near Truro.

Drifter is a traditional and comfortable sailing barge. These vessels are wider and sail more upright than other types of sailing boat and use characteristic leeboards attached to the side of the boat instead of a keel. Built in 1976 the barge is just over 11 meters long and 4.5m wide.

They want you to have the best experience possible on the water so trips are dependent on good weather. They typically sail on dry days in wind strength up to Beaufort force 4 (Moderate breeze) and sail in sheltered waters. They especially welcome those who have never sailed before.
