Penrose Water Gardens was established over 40 years ago within a woodland valley on the outskirts of Truro in Cornwall. The gardens span across 6 acres of marshland and woodland with over 40 lily ponds and informal nature ponds all fed by natural springs. Throughout the gardens you will find that these ponds are well stocked and brimming with hundreds of varieties of plants, from our amazing water lilies and marginal plants to oxygenating and floating aquatic plants. There are a number of seating areas for you to enjoy and watch the wildlife (including the resident kingfishers, moorhens and ducks). While some benches are tucked away for a peaceful escape into nature, you can also find picnic benches at the far end of the gardens, perfect for a family day out. Open all year daily from 09.00 – 17.00.

There is free car parking on-site.

Please note that for their own safety, children must be supervised by a responsible adult in and around the gardens at all times. Dogs are also welcome, but we ask that you keep them on a lead.

Due to the weather, it may be necessary to close the gardens in winter following excess surface water and flooding on the paths. Please check our social media (Facebook and Instagram) for updates.
