Summer just got a whole lot more exciting for the little ones in Our Great Little City! School’s out, sunshine’s in, and Our Great Little Kids Club is ready to take over Truro with five whole weeks of free family fun — all summer long.
Running from Monday 28th July to Friday 29th August, we’re turning up the fun with a jam-packed programme of weekday activities designed for primary school-aged children. Organised by Truro City Council in partnership with Visit Truro, Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery, and Hall for Cornwall, this year’s schedule is all about creative, educational, and interactive fun. (And best of all, it’s free!)
What’s happening each day?
Join us every weekday afternoon from 2pm – 3pm. Families can join in a variety of engaging sessions, most of which take place at the Bandstand in Victoria Gardens. Please note that Tuesdays will be hosted in the Learning Room at Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery (River Street).
Here’s what you can look forward to each week:
- Mondays: Meet Jules the Ventriloquist and her puppet friends for hands-on puppet building, magical fun, and plenty of surprises.
- Tuesdays: Step back in time at Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery with themed sessions inspired by their nostalgic summer exhibition, I Grew Up 80s!
- Wednesdays: Settle in for story time and crafts with the friendly team from Truro Community Library.
- Thursdays: Join the fun with Hall for Cornwall through Aladdin-themed dancing, stories, games, and crafts.
- Fridays: Explore Truro’s hidden nature with the Truro Countryside Rangers and learn all about Truro’s local wildlife.
Heads up! There may be weather-related changes during the programme. For updates, please keep an eye on @VisitTruro or @TruroCityCouncil on Facebook for any last-minute updates.

Find Denzel the Hedgehog!
Due to popular demand, our spiky friend Denzel the Hedgehog’s trail is back across the city centre! Be sure to pick up your free activity pack, which includes fun interactive activities and full details of the Denzel Trail. Activity packs can be collected from Truro Community Library, Visit Truro Visitor Information Centre on Boscawen Street, or Pollen in Victoria Gardens.
Young explorers can collect a sticker from each activity throughout the programme, and those who complete the trail can earn a special “I Love Denzel” sticker and enter a grand prize draw!
Whether you’re a local family or visiting Truro for the holidays, Our Great Little Kids Club is the perfect way to enjoy free, creative fun and make fun summer memories.
