As we head into May, the days are becoming longer and brighter, and Truro has a variety of outdoor events to look forward to over spring and summer.
If you’re looking for things to do, Truro offers a wide range of events throughout the year that cater for all ages and interests.
These events benefit Our Great Little City by bringing together the whole community, including both visitors and residents alike. They help to generate additional foot traffic and boost sales for local businesses. For some of the local events, they create a platform for local makers and suppliers to showcase their products to a wider audience.
We’ve created this guide to highlight the upcoming events on the horizon in Truro that you can look forward to.
Explore our Outdoor Events Space
Let’s begin by exploring our main events space in Truro: Lemon Quay. This large outdoor area can be found in the heart of our city and boasts a rich heritage.
Before Lemon Quay (also known as the Piazza) was covered over in the 1920’s, ships could come right up the river and discharge their cargo onto Back Quay, which is now the main entrance of the Hall for Cornwall.
Alongside the major events which take place here, you can discover our regular markets on the Quay. To find out more about Truro’s markets, take a look at our website – Local Markets in Truro.
As part of Truro’s ongoing Town Deal Project, Lemon Quay will be undergoing some improvement works from May 2025 through early 2026. These works aim to revitalise the space and enhance the visitor experience. For more information, you can learn more here – Truro Lemon Quay Works

Relax in the Gardens for the Bandstand Concerts
Get ready for the return of Truro City Council’s free Bandstand Concerts at Victoria Gardens. Held every Sunday from 4th May until 28th September 2025 in the beautiful setting of the Bandstand at Victoria Gardens in Truro. With a brilliant line up, these concerts are not one to be missed!
They are free to attend, with no prior booking required. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating.
The first concerts during May include vocalist Rachel Best, Loveny Male Voice Choir, Restormel Concert Band, and Pendennis Brass Band.

Get Excited for Summer
Truro Business Improvement District (Truro BID) will be hosting two events in the lead up to summer. Get ready to join in the family-fun at Children’s Day on Saturday 21st June, which is brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors.
Truro’s businesses and organisations will make children and young people their focus for the day with many free activities, entertainment, and great offers in shops and cafes. The jam-packed line up includes mountain bike stunt shows, scooter and pedal bike obstacle courses, circus skills with Swamp Circus, and much more family fun on Lemon Quay.
Or, if you’re more of a petrolhead – why not come down for the Classic Car Show on Sunday 6th July. This popular event offers car lovers a unique opportunity to see a wide variety of cherished classic and vintage cars and motorcycles from the 1930’s to the 1990’s on Lemon Quay.
As well as experiencing the city brimming with cherished cars, visitors can also browse automobilia and autojumbles stalls and enjoy live music. Truro Classic Car Show is brought to you by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors.
