This service is one of the most atmospheric services in the calendar. We start in complete darkness, reminding us of the sadness in the world; gradually the light dawns within the cathedral as more and more candles are lit and we hear stories of hope and light from the bible and the promise that Jesus will return bringing peace and joy. The service includes traditional advent hymns and stunning music from the cathedral choir.
