Welcome to Visit Truro

Visit Truro is a service delivered by Truro City Council to promote Cornwall’s only city as a vibrant place to visit, shop, eat, stay and explore.

Working with local businesses, tourism partners and the wider community, we help attract visitors, encourage them to stay longer and support the businesses that make Truro such a special destination.

This work contributes directly to Truro City Council’s 2026–2030 Strategy, supporting Objective 4 – Our Economy, by strengthening Truro’s visitor economy and helping local businesses thrive through sustainable destination marketing.

What We Do

Visit Truro brings together two complementary services that support the city’s visitor economy.

Destination Marketing

As Truro’s official destination marketing organisation (DMO), we promote the city throughout the year through our website, digital marketing, seasonal campaigns and partnerships. We inspire people to visit, showcase everything Truro has to offer and help visitors discover local businesses before they arrive and while they’re here.

Visitor Information

Our Visitor Information Centre provides trusted, impartial advice to thousands of visitors each year. Our knowledgeable team offers local recommendations, practical travel information and inspiration to help people make the most of their time in Truro and across Cornwall.

Together, these services help attract visitors, improve their experience and encourage them to explore more of the city, benefiting businesses across the visitor economy.

How We Support Businesses

As a service provided by Truro City Council, Visit Truro works year-round to raise Truro’s profile and support businesses that contribute to the city’s visitor economy.

Our work includes:

  • Managing and continually developing the official Visit Truro website

  • Creating seasonal destination content, visitor inspiration and online guides

  • Promoting events, festivals and experiences taking place across the city

  • Improving the visibility of Truro and local businesses through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)

  • Working collaboratively with Visit Cornwall, local businesses, tourism organisations and regional partners to maximise opportunities for Truro

  • Representing Truro at tourism forums, destination management meetings and industry events to share best practice and champion the city

  • Undertaking visitor surveys and analysing visitor insights to better understand visitor behaviour, emerging trends and opportunities for the local economy

  • Providing trusted visitor information and personalised recommendations through our Visitor Information Centre

  • Developing new partnerships, campaigns and marketing opportunities that showcase Truro throughout the year

Businesses can be added to the Visit Truro website throughout the year.

To help us create your listing, please send:

  • Up to five high-quality photographs (maximum 8MB each)

  • A description of your business, including what makes it unique

  • Opening times

  • Website address

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Full postal address

  • Accessibility information (where applicable)

  • Dog-friendly information (where applicable)

  • Details of any events, seasonal offers or promotions

Keeping your information up to date helps visitors discover your business and ensures they have the latest information when planning their visit.
