Discover the great outdoors in and around Our Great Little City

Whilst we may be a small city, we boast an abundance of outdoor space. Did you know that we have over 80 acres of land? This includes native wildflower meadows, woodland spaces, natural rivers, and parks and gardens.

Our outdoor spaces are a great place for all the family. Explore our woodland areas by foot or by bike and look out for various wildlife.

For sports, Boscawen Park is the place to be, with tennis courts, and football and cricket pitches available to hire all year round. There is also a natural play area for children.

Down at Hendra, we have one of the best skate parks in the South West, with an enviable range of jumps, pipes and steps.
