The Courtney Library is home to a wealth of history, with some of the most significant collections of Cornish manuscripts anywhere in the world. They have approximately 40,000 printed books, pamphlets and periodicals, as well as transcripts, manuscripts, archives, and so much more.

The Old Cornwall Society promotes a wider awareness of what makes Cornwall special, as well as preserving and recording Cornwall’s unique culture, traditions, language, and dialect. They have over 40 individual societies, including the Truro Old Cornwall Society.

Also in Truro, the Cornwall Family History Society provides a research service run by volunteers with experience in family history research. Using this service, they can search the Cornwall Family History Society database along with many other resources and can also help you to confirm your existing research and overcome any problems you may have.
