Truro Food Festival
Cornwall is one of the UKs top foodie destinations, and Truro Food Festival is a testament to this. Taking place over the weekend of 27 – 29 September, the city-wide festival celebrates the very best Cornish food and drink with over 30,000 visitors.
Free-to-attend Chefs Demos have been scheduled across all three days of the Festival. Visitors can expect to see celebrity and local chef demos including headliners Jack Stein and this year’s MasterChef winner Irini Tzortzoglou. As well as the main Chef’s Demo Stage, there will also be a secondary stage on Boscawen Street featuring foodie talks in the mornings and free live music in the afternoons. There’s also a Cornish Food Hall packed with the best local produce and artisan traders, Gourmet Street Food stalls on Lemon Quay and Boscawen Street and a city-wide Food Trail.
At night there’s a new pop up music venue with live performance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Friday is funk and disco night, featuring Mr Deluxx with support from Tribo Groove. Saturday is an upbeat party night featuring the amazing sounds of Daytoner Live, supported by the Andy Quick Bandand the uber cool sister-band Hockeysmith. Then on Sunday there’s a blues and jazz session with Russell Sinclair and the Smokin’ Locos, Smokey’s King Shufflers and the amazing vocal talent that is Rue with her band.
Tickets are available to purchase online now for these evening music sessions. Keen foodies can guarantee priority front seats in the Chef’s Theatre and entry to all three evening events by purchasing a VIP Gourmet Ticket.
