The theorbo, the giant of the lute family and not surprisingly an Italian invention, was used in France from the mid-17th century as an accompanying but as a solo instrument.The programme includes works by Giovanni Girolamo Kapsperger, Charles Hurel, Estienne le Moine and Robert de Visée.

The Roseland Music Society welcomes both non-members and members to our concerts, and would very much like to hear from potential new members.
