The 16th Bishop of Truro, Philip Mounstephen, will at this service formally occupy his ‘cathedra’, the official Bishop seat. The Dean of Truro, the Very Revd Roger Bush, will present him with Bishop Benson’s ‘crosier’, or pastoral staff, a special link with the first Bishop of Truro. Although attendance to the service in the cathedral itself will be invitation only, 100 tickets will be kept for any people who are not personally invited but who would like to attend. These tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, from 7 January. If people would like to obtain one or two tickets they can call into the cathedral office from 7 January or email: email@example.com.
It is hoped that for other members of the public who wish to attend but do not have an invite that the service will be transmitted live and broadcast in Truro Methodist Church, close to the cathedral. More details to follow.
