Queen Gwendolen’s Spell was formed a few years ago by violinist and Penzance resident Jackie Shave (www.jacquelineshave.com) who has led and directed the London Britten Sinfonia for fifteen years. She gathers players of the finest quality and puts eclectic and unique programmes together.
In this concert Jackie is joined by Eliza Marshall who gained fame playing for the sound track of Lion King in London. Eliza plays on classical and many different ethnic flutes. Jackie’s sister, Kathy Shave, violin, is in demand as a player with many London orchestras including the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields and City of London Sinfonia. Clare Finnimore is principal violist with Britten Sinfonia, and cellist, Jane Fenton, can often be heard playing Chamber Music at the Holywell Rooms in Oxford, as well as guest principal with many orchestras.
