Truro 3 Arts presents Aquilae Quartet

Programme to include:

Beethoven: String Quartet No. 9 in C major Op. 59 No. 3

Debussy: String Quartet in G minor Op. 10

Britten: Three Divertimenti for String Quartet

​First Formed in September 2020, the Aquilae Quartet brought together a group of new undergraduates with Polish, Scottish and Cornish backgrounds, all students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

​The quartet has received regular coaching from renowned chamber musicians such as: Krysia Osostowicz, Levon Chilingirian, Ursual Smith, Matthew Jones, Sarah-Jane Bradley and the members of the Endellion Quartet.  They have participated in masterclasses given by Kyoko Hashimoto, Luc-Marie Aguera, Alfred Brendel, Adrian Brendel, Charles Tunnell and Scott Dickinson.  The Quartet have given recitals in London and Cornwall as part of ‘Tim Boulton and Friends’ concert series in Penzance and the ‘Dante Festival’, as well as performing as part of ‘Music Coll’ on the Isle of Coll.  The Quartet have also been regularly performing for the GSMD in both recital settings and its annual ‘GSMD Chamber Festival’, playing a huge variety of repertoire ranging from early baroque to contemporary music.
