Event information:

As part of our ‘Spirit of Cornwall’ programme, we will be hosting a lineup of authors and performers to explore the spirit of Cornwall through literature, storytelling, and spoken word. Our authors have taken readers across the world on a journey through Cornwall as an adoptive home, a working class childhood homeland, or a force of nature and beauty.

Join us on Friday 15th Match  for our March Museum Late: Cornish Storytelling. Beneath our ‘Spirit of Cornwall’ tree instillation, we will hear readings from authors Wyl Menmuir (author of ‘The Draw of the Sea’), Natasha Carthew (author of ‘Undercurrent’) and Sasha Swire (author of ‘Edgeland’). These will be rounded out by performances from Story Republic, a team of performers from Cornwall’s Creative Writing Centre, the Writers’ Block.

This event is £16pp and will include entry to the event, evening entry to the museum, and access to the museum shop. A bar will also be open on the night, serving wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and snacks.

Lineup:

  • Wyl Menmuir, author of ‘The Draw of the Sea’ and winner of the Roger Deakin award
  • Natasha Carthew, author of ‘Undercurrent’ and founder of Class Festival
  • Sasha Swire, author of ‘Edgeland’ and bestseller ‘Diary of an MP’s Wife’
  • Story Republic, a team of performers from Cornwall’s Creative Writing Centre, the Writers’ Block
