Event information:
Join us on Saturday 19th July 2025 for a Climate Resilience themed walk along the Truro River, “Coastal Climate Conversations”.
During the event, we will delve into local stories there, learn about the upgrade of the flood defences and what we can do to become more resilient ourselves. Climate Walks in other areas have been immensely successful to provide an expanded experience, based on we didn’t do ‘climate’ at school, but there’s plenty we can do to adapt and mitigate the effects, even start to innovate and think well about resilience. We would love to see you there!
The Climate Walk 10:30- 12.30 booking ticket is £5 and non-refundable, ending at the Cricket Club, where we will finish just before a match with Wadebridge at 1pm. It is an easy 5 minute walk to return to Boscawen Park car park. Hot or cold drinks and pasties and toasties will be available for you to purchase if you wish to stay on.
Boscawen Park is a 20-30minute walk from Truro, there is a car park – please do carshare if you are coming with friends or colleagues. Ticket holders will be advised where to meet in the car park.
The walk starts promptly at 10.30, please do arrive by 10.20 to check-in. The round-trip walking distance from Boscawen Park to Sunny Corner and back is approximately 1.6 miles (2.6 kilometers). This relatively flat route is popular among families, dog walkers, and runners. We will stop at various points along the walk to highlight features of the walk and meet with locals along the way.
If you have any queries about the event, please do not hesitate to contact Luci Isaacson BEM at luci@climatevision.co.uk.
Here’s what a few people said after the last Mounts Bay event:
“Incredibly fascinating talk brilliantly told.”
“Absolutely fascinating walk/talk. Informative, interesting & wow factor. Just enough of a walk to feel like we’d had a walk but short and flat enough to be inclusive to all ages and abilities.”
“Luci was entertaining, interesting & comprehensive. She brought stories that I had not known of alive for me and made me consider even more how best I can slow down climate change.”
This is event was made possible by Shaping Climate Vision CIC and was funded by the Duke of Cornwall Marine Environment Fund, with Cornwall Community Foundation. For information about supported Climate Talks to get you going on the right things to do visit https://climatevision.co.uk/shaping-cv/
