This is a spectacular display of textile art, one of the largest ever by a single artist!

Jacqui Parkinson spent three years making it, using eight million stitches on twelve huge (nearly 3m high) panels, re-imaging the first days of creation from the first pages of the Bible.

Jacqui has an international reputation for large scale work. Threads through Creation has been touring cathedrals and been seen by nearly a million visitors: this is the first and only chance to see it in Cornwall.

The twelve panels take you through the creation story ‘day’ by ‘day’ – starting with dramatic elemental designs, moving onto more and more elaborate images as the story takes you into the Garden of Eden. You’ll find the intricate stitching and powerful designs fascinating, absorbing and uplifting, as the exhibition turns the black and white pages of the Bible into amazing colour and variety . Children love it too, with nearly a hundred creatures to spot!

The Threads through Creation exhibition is at Truro Cathedral from Tuesday 08 July – Wednesday 20 August and can be seen during the cathedral’s general visiting times.
