With events, activities, and attractions for all ages, you will find something for everyone.

City Centre

  • Denzel's Hedgehog Trail - From Monday 25th July, collect your free activity pack from Truro Community Library or the Truro Visitor Information Centre to begin Denzel's Hedgehog Trail. Use the map to explore Our Great Little City, looking out for Denzel hiding in the displays of our shops and landmarks. He will be hidden with a letter. Once you've collected all the letters, they'll spell a special phrase. Head back to the library or Visitor Information Centre to tell them the phrase and enter the prize draw!

  • Summer Reading Challenge - Support Truro Community Library and get involved in the Summer Reading Challenge. From 9th July - 10th September, the library challenges you to borrow & read six books over the summer holiday. You will receive prizes & stickers along the way! The library will also run activities based on the challenge - see their Facebook page for details. Click here for more details on the challenge.

  • Summer at Royal Cornwall Museum - The museum's summer programme kicks off on Saturday 26th July - Wednesday 31st August with a mix activities to get involved in. Join in with the Treasure Hunt (£2) and make your own treasure at the Lego Treasure Club (free with an annual pass and for under 18's). Learn more about the museum's treasures on Treasure Tuesdays (£2), and have a closer look at the Handling History  sessions (free with an annual pass and for under 18's) on Wednesdays.   • Summer with Truro Cathedral - Head to Truro Cathedral for fun, daily activities this summer. Enjoy the colouring and craft activity table, which is available every daily during cathedral opening hours, free of charge. Discover Truro Cathedral on the Explorer Trails, available every day during cathedral opening hours. It costs £1 per trail and children will receive a sticker on completion. You can also have fun with the Shapes & Colours spotting activity, available from the welcome stewards daily during cathedral opening hours - free of charge.   • Family Fun Day - On Tuesday 16th August, join Truro Cathedral for a Family Fun Day, led by Mother's Union volunteers. Between 10.00 and 15.00, there'll be family-friendly activities at the cathedral, including a bouncy castle, a soft play area, giant games, and much more! Admission and activities are free.   • The BIG Summer Market - Join Duchy Fairs Cornwall Shop Small Market and Truro Farmers Market for the BIG Summer Market this August. Running across Friday 19th and Saturday 20th August, you'll have two days to explore the outdoor market on Lemon Quay. With a range of seasonal produce, local craft, vintage finds and funky homewares, there's something for everyone at the summer market. 

  • Truro Cathedral - Visit the iconic Truro Cathedral right in the heart of Our Great Little City. Guided tours are available, as well as private tours. Click here to find out more. 

  • Shopping - Enjoy a little retail therapy in the city and peruse our mix of independent and high-street shops. Truro is also a popular choice for market-goers with our two indoor markets, Pannier Market and Lemon Street Market, as well as the twice-weekly Truro Farmers Market. Duchy Fairs Cornwall Shop Small Market and the Truro Antiques & Collectables Market also pitch up on Lemon Quay on select dates throughout the year. Click here to find out more.

  • Our Great Little Kids Club - Enjoy free actvities in Victoria Gardens this August. Click here to find out more, or pick up a free activity pack for more information.

  • Come Out & Play at Trelissick - This summer, take part in garden games and activities around Trelissick garden, supported by Sport England. With activities such as boules, archery, and quoits, there's something for all the family to enjoy. Activities are free, admission applies. From Saturday 23rd July. Click here for more information.

  • Wild Truro - Enjoy summer in our outdoor spaces with the Wild Truro guide. Spot the wildlife as you tackle the city centre trail and explore our woodland areas. Collect your free guide from the Visitor Information Centre or Boscawen Street or click here to view online.

  • National Trust Trelissick House & Garden - Explore Trelissick House and Garden, overlooking the Fal River. Click here to see what's on at Trelissick.

  • Picnic Spots - Pack your picnics and enjoy lunch in some of our favourite outdoor spots.

  • Dine Alfresco - Many of our cafes, bars & eateries offer outdoor seating so you can treat the tastebuds and still enjoy the Cornish sunshine.

  • Enchanted Trail - Peek behind the fairy doors and discover the magic of the Enchanted Trail at Coosebean.

Sport & Activities

  • Our Great Little Kids Club Activity Pack -  From Monday 25th July, collect your free activity pack from Truro Community Library or the Truro Visitor Information Centre. In the pack, tease your brain with the wordsearch, spot the difference, and colouring in, and explore the city with Denzel's Hedgehog Trail. You can also use the pack to find out more about Our Great Little Kids Club, as well as summer activities taking place at Truro Cathedral and the Royal Cornwall Museum.

  • Ages 5-10 yrs Summer Tennis Camps - Join a series of tennis camps at Truro Lawn Tennis Club this summer. There are several sessions throughout the school holiday from Monday 25th July - Tuesday23rd August. Sessions will be in the morning and cost £15 for Truro Lawn Tennis Club members and £20 for non-members. These are suitable for those aged 5-10 yrs. Click here for more information and to book.

  • Ages 11-15 yrs Summer Tennis Camps - Join a series of tennis camps at Truro Lawn Tennis Club this summer. There are three sessions: Tuesday 9th August; Tuesday 16th August; Tuesday 23rd August. Sessions will run in the afternoon and are suitable for those aged 11-15yrd. They cost £15 for Truro Lawn Tennis Club members and £20 for non-members. Click here for more information and to book.

  • Multi-Sport Activity Camps - Head to the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre, where the team will be running their multi-sport activity camps. They will run on various dates throughout the summer holiday and sessions will run from 08.30 - 17.30. The camps are suitable for those aged 6 - 13 yrs and cost £30 per day.  Click here to find out more and to book.

  • Swamp Circus Circus Skills Workshops - Swamp Circus will host two Circus Skills workshops at Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre in August. There will be a session on Wednesday 17th and Wednesday 31st August, both from 08.30 - 17.00. Sessions cost £30 per day. Click here to find out more and to book your place. 

  • Drama Workshop - Join the Burrell Theatre for a drama workshop this August. The workshop will run over two days on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th August - both days must be attended. The workshops will run from 08.30 - 17.00 each day and cost a total of £60. Click here to find out more and to book your place.

  • Art Print Workshops - Join an art workshop at Truro School this July. There'll be two workshops on the following dates: Thursday 28th July & Friday 29th July. Each workshop will cost £30 and take place from 08.30 - 17.00. Click here to find out more and to book your place.

  • Bowling - Head to Truro Bowl for some friendly competition! With eight lanes, a gaming arcade, a cafe and a bar, its the perfect place for family entertainment.

  • Axe Throwing - Join The Celtic Tossers for an exhilirating axe throwing session. Children welcome aged 8+.

  • Geek Retreat - Explore this gaming haven in the heart of Our Great Little City. Geek Retreat specialises in comics, board games, and video games. They hold regular gaming events and even serve up the most delicious milkshakes! 

  • Eureka Escape Room - Race against the clock to solve puzzles and escape. Great for all ages! 

  • Giant Inflatable Sessions - Head to the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre and have a go on the inflatable floating obstacle course.

  • Sailing Tours - Enjoy a sailing trip along the river with your experienced hosts, Neil and Debbie. Choose from 2, 3, or 4 hour trips. All-day trips and private hire are also available. 

  • High Tide Sailings - On selected dates, cruise along the River Fal straight into Our Great Little City. Click here to view dates.

  • Enterprise Boats - Enterprise Boats run services up to 7 days a week between Falmouth, St Mawes and Trelissick. Click here to find out more.

Music, Theatre & Cinema

  • Plaza Cinema - Enjoy the latest films at the Plaza Cinema this summer.

  • Alverton's Summer Garden Sessions - Relax in the stunning setting of the Alverton's garden whilst listening to local musicians. Enjoy cocktails on the terrace and tempting tapas. Click here to view the dates & performers, and to book tickets.

  • Bandstand Concerts - Listen to local band performances in the beautiful Victoria Gardens. The concerts are free to attend and take place at 14.30 every Sunday up to Sunday 11th September - unless otherwise stated. Click here for more information.
