Penrose Water Gardens was established 45 years ago within a woodland valley on the outskirts of Truro in Cornwall.
With 6 acres of marshland and woodland with over 40 lily ponds and infrormal nature ponds all fed by natural springs.
Throughout the gardens you will find well stocked ponds brimming with hundreds of varieties of plants from our amazing water lilies and marginal plants to oxygenating and floating aquatic plants.
There are a number of seating areas for you to enjoy and watch the wildlife including the resident kingfishers, moor hens and ducks.
Open all year daily from 10.00 - 16.00. Due to the weather it may be necessary to close the gardens in winter due to excess surface water and flooding on the paths.
The pop-up cafe open on Tuesdays and Fridays 10.00 - 15.00 and Weekends 11.00-16.00 serving light lunches, drinks and homemade cakes.
Plant sale by appointment only, or on weekends between 11.00 - 16.00
The Penrose Kitchen is also situated within the Garden, though please bear in mind they are a separate business to the Gardens.
They serve the very best of local and home grown produce in the beautiful surroundings of tranquil lily ponds. Enjoy al fresco dining at it’s best basking in glorious, balmy Cornish sunshine on the decked terrace with a grilled whole lobster and a glass of fizz in summer. There is something for all tastes.
They are open for bookings Wednesday to Saturday 12.00 until 14.30 & 18.00 until 21.00, and Sunday 12.00 until 17.00. Please note this is a dining only venue.
